Whatever your requirement for stylesheets (XSL Transformations), we can meet it!

There are many applications - you may require stylesheets for:

• displaying XML documents within a browser
• translating data for passing on to other systems - in any format (XML, CSV, structured text, ...)
• generating dynamic HTML for inclusion in web pages
• preparing XSL-FO (formatting objects) files for publication
• formatting result sets retrieved from a relational database as XML

XSLT and XSL

SMH Systems can develop stylesheets for you in W3C-compliant XSLT (1999 standard), or the Microsoft XSL implementation (the 1998 working draft standard, as provided on Internet Explorer 5.5 and Pocket PC).

We test all XSLT for W3C standards conformance. We also test against both Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla, to make sure that all the constructions we use are handled properly by these popular implementations.

Customer responsibilities include specifying the output that is required, and providing sample data for testing. But if you don't have these, we can quote to develop the specifications.

Training and Capability Development

If you wish to develop your own inhouse capabilities for stylesheet coding, we can provide training in XSLT and in XPath.

Training can be arranged to fit your specific requirements, and exercises acn be constructed around your data. An ideal scenario might be for SMH Systems to undertake some initial stylesheet development for you, to familiarise with your data, applications, and technical staff, and then develop and deliver a programme to establish the skills and capabilities in your shop.
